Burrows Lea Country House – Shere, Surrey Hills Wedding

I’d never heard of the wonderful Burrows Lea Country House until lovely Elly and Doug contacted me regarding their wedding plans, and I couldn’t believe such a splendid venue was just down the road from me, nestled in the beautiful Surrey Hills village of Shere! I am quite a country gal at heart, don’t get me wrong I love hitting London every month or so, but my soul lies with the rural side of life and it was a real treat to photograph at such a pretty place with such amazing views.

It’s quite hard not to write an entire essay about these two, we met in my local pub for a drink and I knew I was going to love them, and love them I do. Elly’s dress and style was just UTTER perfection, such a beautiful bride she made and her flowers were so so glorious. And let’s face it you can’t beat a man in a kilt, Doug’s get up was certainly not one to sniff at! They both looked super awesome and they dressed their reception venue with more of the same. High fives to anyone who has a Lego cake too…!

The pair were married in a traditional and emotional ceremony at the incredible St Augustine’s Abbey in Chilworth. Afterwards their guests were carted off to Burrows Lea Country House via an array of London buses and a very special car named Clem which ferried the bridesmaids, whilst Elly, Doug and I took the scenic route for a few shots in the local area. The couple arrived to an avalanche of confetti (my first car tunnel confetti run, and hopefully not my last!) and drinks aplenty. The atmosphere of the entire reception was filled with laughter, smiles and hugs, and despite the wind having a mind of its own that day, everyone enjoyed it immensely.

I was lucky enough to have a wonderful friend assisting me who made the day even more joyous, and will be forever grateful to him, so thank you Guy for your efforts! I know Elly and Doug loved you to bits too.

Without further ramblings, here are my chosen select few favourites, I wanted to include all 600 but I know that’s a tad excessive…enjoy! <3
