“Thank you so much for these – they are fantastic, we absolutely love them!! You honestly did just the best job. It has been so nice to look through them and ‘re-live’ the day a little – it all went by in a bit of a blur! Such awesome memories.”
Hampshire Garden Wedding
So, a little late in the day perhaps, but since my last wedding of 2017 is now over I thought it was time to show off some of this year’s thirty brilliant celebrations! First up on the blog is Jo and Olly’s absolutely beautiful day in April, on thankfully a very sunny Spring Saturday! I met these two in the pub and despite not knowing, we’d been sat at adjacent tables scoffing some dinner pre meeting, before we realised and I’m fairly sure we began laughing with each other from that moment on.
I clicked with both Jo and Olly’s absolutely infectious, smiley personalities straight away, and like all my couples, fell totally in love with them. I always know when I’m shooting a homespun garden wedding that I am very honoured to be invited into such an intimate celebration and this was no exception. The happy pair were married at St Luke’s Milland in Liphook, which is not far from where I spent a lot of my childhood at my grandparents’ house, so to head back to this part of Hampshire was a real treat! They had a smashing line of confetti and I’ve even broken my ‘no portrait images in a blog rule’ because Olly’s face as they exited the church is possibly my favourite to date!
The grounds of Olly’s family’s home served as their reception just down the road, with AWESOME tipis set up for their meal which I bloody love. I was also spoilt for choice with the super pretty garden for the couple session photos. We had that magical light that only Spring and Autumn bring, and I was chuffed to be able to stay late enough to grab a special moment outside at night with the most beautiful waxing crescent moon in the sky.
Jo and Olly were two of the most fun, kind and generous souls to work with, and I left with some seriously lovely memories of their day, one I shall never forget. A big thanks to Guy for being my second shooter on the day too!
Here are a few of my favourites from their day, if you’re planning a home wedding then do get in touch! I specialise in them, see here for more inspiration! <3 xxxx
