A truly homespun and beautiful wedding, Yorkshire
Like all weddings that were planned carefully for 2020 and 2021, Beth and Rob found themselves facing the stress of re-arranging multiple times throughout the build up to their special day. It’s been heartbreaking trying to be available for 40+ couples and losing some has been harder to cope with than I anticipated. However, losing Beth and Rob would have been a true blow, so I am so thrilled to be sitting here typing this as I edit the start of such a beautiful day. Initially their wedding would have taken place in Hampshire with the usual proportions, we chatted many times about different dates and places, but I am SO happy that fate decided they’d settle on Beth’s family home up in Yorkshire, as I truly believe this wedding suited them to a tee.
Take two of the sweetest, kindest, selfless people, who adore each-other and their loved ones, and there you have just a small picture of what makes them as a couple. I’ve never experienced a more thoughtful bride, nor one who calmly and collectively put the finishing touches to making the space more homely and welcoming for the guests. Speaking of which, we celebrated the event amongst sunshine and just two families. It was PERFECT. I know deep down a lot of couples will miss having a big shebang, but there is something very lovely about being in such a relaxed environment with the people who love you the most.
An Intimate Wedding…
We had a casual morning with Beth getting ready at home with her lovely bridesmaids, one of whom is married to one of Beth’s brothers, who’s wedding I photographed back in 2019. Always wonderful to see families again, I was invited in as part of the throng and felt grateful to be there to share it with them. Obviously I LOVE dogs so it was a treat to meet the family pooches too :) Rob and his gang joined us in the garden for drinks before they all headed to the local church for their vows. SUCH a wonderful vicar greeted us and Rob’s brother played the organ which was pretty special too. Confetti followed and we headed back to the house and garden for more photos, incredible canapés and flowing drinks. I really believe that weddings at home are so so special, and I feel honoured every time I am asked to capture them. The grounds of the house were out of this world and I was in my element dragging poor Rob and Beth around for their couple photos :)
I left shortly after the couple and guests had eaten their incredibly yummy wedding breakfast, leaving them to enjoy the rest of the evening sun. Beth and Rob, it was the biggest privilege to be asked along for the day, thank you for putting me up. I loved being in Yorkshire for the weekend and I am so pleased to be able to share these previews with you, I have plenty more to crack on with editing wise but I hope you enjoy these for now! Lots of love to you both (and bump) xxxx
