Oh what a beautiful wedding this was!

My fourth one of 2019 (it’s flying by!) saw me return to such a beautiful venue, the lovely Farbridge Barn in Chicester. We had some sunshine and fluffy clouds, and the gardens were just starting to blossom; what we also had was a LOT of wind. Normally getting frustrated with wind…I can’t deny that I didn’t last week, but actually, it made for some quite fun moments and my gosh did Isobel handle it well! Her absolutely stunning hair remained in place all day, featuring a very unusual and gorgeous headpiece by Tilly Thomas Lux. Yes, I know it’s not ALL about the details but I do have to mention her stunning Suzanne Neville dress completing her look, which took Rob’s breath away as Isobel entered the ceremony room. This wedding was honestly, SUCH a joy to be a part of. I had the loveliest bunch of guests to mingle amongst, brilliant bridal and groom parties, stunning flowers everywhere thanks to Nordic Twigs, and a fantastic videographer, Luis from The Wedding Video Guys, to work alongside.

I normally preview just a few but each week I do find it harder and harder to give a real feel for the day, and with such brilliant and funny speeches, one by Isobel too (yay for bride speeches) I just had to include a few more and make it a blog post. There are SO many more moments to come from Friday’s wedding, but for now here is a little snippet. Isobel and Rob, thank you for being the BEST clients to work with, it never feels like work when you’re around lovely people. Have the most amazing honeymoon (not jealous at ALL) ;) and I really hope you love these sneaky peeks. Lots of love, Sophie xx

Hayley & Thomas – Northbrook Park

Well hello there 2019 wedding season, you are so welcome! It’s been a while since I’ve posted my previews straight to the blog but when you’re as behind as I am at adorning your site with beautiful images of wonderful couples, I thought I may as well hit the ground running with the UBER lovely Hayley and Thomas, who were married last week at Northbrook Park! Pleased to see the back of Storm Gareth, I was jolly chuffed to feel that for a March wedding, it was lovely and mild and all the guests enjoyed the reception outdoors. It was a BEAUTIFUL day. Hayley looked glam and gorgeous, in her pretty Jesus Peiro dress from the brilliant Miss Bush Bridal in Ripley.

It was an emotional day, with both French and English families merging, it was lovely to see how well everyone got along. Hearing the speeches in two languages provided much amusement, despite the fact that poor Thomas’ antics were laughed at twice over thanks to two best men translating their stories about him :) I won’t go on and on, as I’ll save the real chat for the main blog post, but here are some of my favourites from the story of Hayley and Thomas. Two absolutely WONDERFUL people, so full of love for each-other, and such caring giving souls towards others too. Thank you for inviting me in to capture your big day, what a way to start the season, I feel so very lucky to work with such incredibly lovely people. Enjoy your previews!! xxx

Amy & Chris – Farbridge Barn

Farbridge Barn Spring Wedding

When you receive an enquiry from friends of a previous couple whom you LOVED working with, you know that you’ll do anything to grab them! Step forward, Amy and Chris, one of my first weddings from 2018 at the wonderful Farbridge Barn. These two, are SO adorable I quite wanted to put them in my pocket and take them home. Two of the sweetest, funniest and down to earth souls I ever had the pleasure to meet, let alone photograph.

I hadn’t been back to Farbridge in a few years, and it was even better than I remembered. Set in such a quaint and picturesque part of Sussex, it’s a beautiful space, not too big, and not too small, filled with light and surrounded by greenery, and sheep! I love countryside venues, although I love a city wedding, the greenery is where it’s at for me, always. They chose to be married in a beautiful church not too far away, and despite it starting off with typical March rainy weather, the clouds soon departed and we had a bit of sun! Hurrah!

Amy looked absolutely stunning in her two-piece dress, I LOVE wedding outfits that show individual style. Her beautiful hair and make up was done by one of my favourite ladies, Charlotte from Polka Dot Hair and Make Up. All her bridesmaids who not only looked gorgeous, were some of the loveliest people I’ve met. I knew minutes in that this was going to be a day filled with warm, friendly and of course happy people. I was not wrong!

After the slightly tear-filled ceremony, we had a brilliant confetti run and headed back to the barn for the reception. We stepped out for some quiet time so Amy and Chris could let it sink in, and grabbed some peaceful, beautiful shots outside the grounds. Oh the speeches that followed were SO wonderful. I probably did my usual blubbing but the mood was soon lifted by one of the BEST evening receptions I’ve seen.

Amy and Chris organised a sparkler run which led to a bar filled with Espresso Martinis for each of the guests. What a brilliant way to get the party started! They had a lovely first dance followed by an AWESOME dance-floor thanks to Shine On, SUCH a brilliant band! I left shortly after one of the best tunes, Sit Down by James, where everybody literally, sat down. Epic. Amy and Chris, I know it was almost a whole year ago and I hope you’ve got something brilliant planned for your first anniversary, but I just wanted to say thanks for the memories, I loved working with you both, and I wish you the BEST life together. Here are some of my faves from your ruddy marvellous day. xxx
