Louise & Greg – Countryside Marquee wedding – previews

Another straight to blog set of previews…this time it’s the very lovely Countryside homespun wedding at Louise and Greg. I feel very lucky to live just five minutes from where this beautiful wedding and reception took place, as it’s an area I will always hold dear. I first met Louise and Greg at the wedding of Sarah & Craig, friends of theirs and who’ve since become friends of mine, I also got to see them last year at Lucy and Simon’s wedding, another lovely, local affair. It was SO wonderful to see so many familiar faces on Saturday, and really does make me feel blessed to work with such gorgeous and good-natured people.

If I’m allowed to have a girl crush, then Louise is certainly it! From stunning hair, to beautiful eye-popping make up, and my favourite dress designer Jesus Peiro from the one and only Miss Bush, Louise made one seriously stunning bride. Let’s not forget the talented and lovely Hannah Berry who’s flowers yet again provided colour and beauty everywhere they were found. I regularly have to pinch myself when spending my weekends surrounded by such incredible people and suppliers. It was the perfect day, seeing two childhood sweethearts marry, witnessing how happy their friends and family were for them, listening to such brilliantly funny speeches – Greg I thought your trumpet playing was marvellous ;) and also biting my nails when the beloved E-type was helped in reverse to stop it hitting a wall and many guests…I could go on and on. It really was a wedding of dreams.

Louise and Greg, here are your sneak peeks, once again I found it SO hard to limit to just fifty, I cannot wait to get cracking on the rest! I hope you two have the best lives together, and many more skiing holidays in the future :) Lots of love xxx

Gate Street Barn Wedding

Just under one year ago (yes I am slapping myself on the wrist for not getting round to it sooner!) I was part of an amazing wedding. A special one, as it was my first same sex wedding, and the very next day I shot my second. Two wonderful couples, two incredible experiences and a WHOLE LOT OF TEARS. (Mainly from myself) ;) So to the couple at hand, who’s first wedding anniversary is tomorrow, the very lovely Gem and Emma. These ladies. Just wow, they are 100% made for each-other. I arrived shortly before the ceremony with just enough time to capture some reactions from Gem’s family, who was first to walk down the aisle with her father. Emma was accompanied by her brother, and before things even started I could tell I was in a room full of so much love. It was going to be a wonderful day indeed.

We had that beautiful September sunshine, and we had all the friends and laughs you could ever wish for, it was a total dream to photograph. Everywhere I turned were smiles, hugs and lovely moments between friends, knowing just how much it meant to Emma and Gem to have everyone there to celebrate with them. I adore weddings held at Gate Street Barn, it’s the perfect mix of rustic countryside with a warm and cosy atmosphere, and a recently obtained modern conversion with stunning light and airy walkways. It’s definitely on my top venues list! I also know that the barn attracts some of the very best couples, I always feel at home here, and I always leave full of emotion. This wedding was no exception! After a few drinks and a great confetti run, Gem, Emma and I headed off to have some quiet time to enjoy the surrounding countryside, and let them take it all in. The portraits of these guys are some of my favourites, so at ease with each-other, despite learning they were super nervous a few weeks before. Well, all I can say is they SMASHED IT!

Speeches were a total emosh-fest, with me probably crying the most, but yet again, all I could see was family and friends beaming with pride at the two lovebirds. Chris Haslam at Chess Disco kicked off the first dance and we parted ways after a few short hours together. It was simply a wonderful day. And I feel so lucky to have had Emma and Gem put their faith in me to capture such an important day in their lives. So thank you, E&G, once again for letting me re-live such lovely memories, I hope you both have the best anniversary and the best of lives together. All my love, xxx

Lucy & Rich – Stone Barn – Previews

Lucy Rich Stone Barn Cotswolds Wedding Photography

Since I’ve realised how poor I am at blogging (I have 8 more or so from 2017 still to share!) I decided to switch things up a bit, and post my previews from weddings straight to my blog – hurrah! I love sharing a little sneak peek of the story from a wedding within a few days after, and since so much of my work is focused on the natural, candid moments it’s expanded my preview selection from five to around fifty!

So back to this particular day in question. Lucy and Rich. The most beautiful barn in the Cotswolds, called Cripps Stone Barn or simply Stone Barn, surrounded by the most breathtaking countryside with a rustic, modern feel. It’s certainly a very special place. It was my first visit to the barn, and I sincerely hope not my last! Lucy got ready with her fabulous girls a short way away in the lovely Old Stocks Inn, and was driven by her father to the ceremony whereby the calm and happy Rich awaited her. The light in the ceremony room was SO pretty, it ticked all my ‘happy photographer face’ boxes and the confetti tunnel was just AWESOME! Lucy and Rich wanted a laid back vibe with minimal formals, so I was left to capture the day naturally which was a lovely way to spend the reception. I *might* have made them go out in the rain for five minutes or so however for some portraits!

It was lovely to have along with me my favourite videographer, Steve from Skinny Boy Films, who’s always a joy to work with, and an absolutely incredibly talented chap! The gorgeous understated but beautifully pretty flowers were provided by Luna in the Wild, and Lucy’s stunning dress was by one of my faves, Naomi Neoh. All in all I was spoilt to work on such an incredible day, which was filled with so much laughter and some absolutely amazing dance-moves! I can’t wait to blog this wedding in full, but here are some sneak peeks for now. Thank you Lucy and Rich for having me as part of your day! I hope you love your previews!! <3 xxx
