Busbridge Lakes Wedding
What a treat this wedding was! Quite honestly it was the dream, from start to finish with these two. I had never worked at Busbridge before, despite shooting quite a few lakes around the Surrey Hills area (always such a stunning spot for a wedding, if you don’t mind a bit of goose poo!) and it honestly look my breath away! It’s totally idyllic, and with Ellen and George’s decision for an outdoor ceremony surrounded by flowers by one of my favourites, Jessica Eliza, it couldn’t have been more beautiful.
The start of the day took me to a place I stayed after my own wedding, Broadway Barn, and it was lovely to be back but this time for prep! Ellen’s absolutely stunning dress was Phillipa Lepley and her overall look was just incredible. Obviously Ellen is a real beauty but her make up & hair done by the talented Rose Gosling finished off the look to perfection. We all headed to Busbridge where George was waiting for us, looking dapper in Moss Bross. I also had the privilege of meeting and working with videographer Todd Clarke and his assistant, who were totally chilled and blended in so nicely with my own relaxed approach.
The weather was just glorious, not too hot, just what I love, and it meant they had full use of the amazing grounds, so after the group shots by the walled garden (my favourite backdrop for groups!) Ellen, George and I took a wander around the Lakes’ grounds. It really is a treasure trove of a venue, so unusual but also has such a great space for a marquee. The flowers were probably my favourite of the whole of the season, such bright and fun colours – in my opinion you can never have enough colour!
The day was rounded off by a lovely meal by The Kitchen, and of course, the speeches. SO much emotion, mainly the laughing kind but with a few happy tears too. I will never ever tire of capturing speeches, I just love finding moments in between the tables, and faces I’d not spotted during the reception. Ellen & George had a fabulous first dance and I departed just after sunset. It was basically the most beautiful, perfect day, and I loved working with the pair of them so much. Just such gentle, and loving people, who completely adore one another. More please! As always, thanks for reading, and enjoy a few of my favourites from their brilliant day in August.
