BOOM. My first wedding of 2015 and what a corker it was!!
When Kate and Ricky got in touch I knew I was desperate to shoot their wedding, Kate seemed like such a lovely lady and I could tell we’d get on really well. They were married at the super cute Lovekyn Chapel in Kingston, Surrey. Even though we had a bit of rain, Kate fully embraced it and amidst umbrellas galore, we ran across the road into the chapel fairly unscathed! Awaiting his bride, were the fabulous (and tearful!) Ricky and his boys. Well if that wasn’t an emotional ceremony I don’t know what is! I’m pretty sure I even shed a tear at one point…
After their champagne reception, everyone climbed aboard a coach to take them to the grand building that is the Landmark Arts Centre in Teddington. Kate, Ricky and I snuck off for a few moments for their portrait session by the suspension bridge at Teddington Lock whilst their guests took in the incredible reception space. Canapés, laughs and more fizz later, a superb wedding breakfast was served followed by giggles and tears throughout their speeches. I was made so welcome by the whole wedding party, and had an amazing day. Shooting first dances is one of my favourite parts of any wedding, so I set up some subtle lighting to show off the epic dance floor area of the venue. Spotting the energy from their guests, I stuck around for some of the awesome Soul tunes their fantastic wedding band played too. All in all, despite the rain, this was a Valentine’s Day to remember. What an AWESOME way to spend it (despite missing out on seeing my husband) I couldn’t have wished for better company on such a loving and emotional day. Kate and Ricky, you two are made for each other and I feel so honoured to have been part of your day!! Here are a few of my favourites… Enjoy!xxx
