“Sophie, you were absolutely amazing, thanks so much for these, they are amazing! We absolutely LOVE them!”
Spring at Millbridge Court
Oh Vicky & Toby! My first 2024 wedding and my first at the fabulous Millbridge Court. I am so fortunate to work at this incredible venue, just 35 minutes away from my house, so frequently throughout my seasons. I also worked out that I have now photographed a wedding at Millbridge in every single month of the year, bar January! So I am fully aware of exactly where the light appears, where it falls, and all the best spots for couple portraits as the seasons change. I am forever grateful to be recommended by such a stunning venue, and can’t wait for the rest of my 2024 weddings there – five more to go!
However, despite my love for MC, it’s actually all about these two in this post. I knew when I had my meeting with Vicky & Toby that we would have a brilliant laugh, and that they ADORED one another. That much is plain to see within minutes of being around them, and it made it phenomenally easy to photograph them. Often I am told that ‘I am not great on camera’ or ‘I don’t really know how to pose’ – and each time I remind my couples, just be yourselves, love each other and let me worry about the rest. I think it’s clear to see that taking natural photos of these two was a piece of cake. They smashed it!
As Millbridge is so special, it has everything under one roof. Both parties preparation shots can be easily captured, and I had great fun with Toby and his band of men discussing whether it should be a single or a double Windsor knot in their ties. I think Toby nailed it, looking sharp as a tac. Obviously it’s plain to see that Vicky is incredibly stunning naturally, but wow her dress simply blew me away. So elegant, classy and unique. I have a newfound love for scalloped everything now…and her simple, paired-back hair and make up just complimented the look and their flowers beautifully.
To say a few tears were shed would be an understatement, you simply couldn’t move for tissues! And Toby managed to keep it together for all of 3.5 seconds – Toby I am proud of you. It was the happiest, sweetest ceremony and Vicky’s gorgeous smile took centre stage all day. I was SO relieved to see the sun shine, after what can only be described as the soggiest and windiest March on record. They, of course, deserved all of it. The day went as a breeze, and I loved every, single, second. It was also SO lovely to work alongside one of my absolute favourite videographers, Musk Photography & Films, as Tash and I have known each other for years now. All in all, a truly perfect day. SO happy to be working on these images, but here are the previews from my very first 2024 wedding! LOVED IT! x
