“Sophie, these are amazing! Thank you so much!…You have captured the day so perfectly. Thank you so much for everything on the day of our wedding, you were the ultimate professional but you made us feel like friends, we were so comfortable with you and were so impressed with how efficient, cool and chilled you were from start to end…. And what a result, these are fantastic pictures and Annie and I are thrilled to bits with them. Each captures a little slice of the day!”
Surrey Garden Wedding
Annie and Brian. Ohhh these guys. I knew we’d get along and I knew this was going to be my kind of wedding. Looking back at the weddings I’ve blogged (and the many still to come!) I appear to have a thing for garden marquee weddings. They just suit me, full of relaxed, happy vibes and often glorious sunshine and pretty flowers. Well holding their wedding on the August Bank Holiday weekend Annie and Brian were taking a risk with the weather but my word we got so very lucky! Blue skies and sun beaming down all day long, I was so pleased they were able to celebrate just as planned outdoors with all their family and friends.
The couple were married at the very pretty St Edward The Confessor Church in Sutton Park, and had an emotional and beautiful ceremony. Since the grounds leading up to the church are so striking we stayed behind and grabbed a few moments whilst their guests made their way back to Annie’s parents’ house just round the corner. The whole day was co-ordinated by the brilliant and lovely Gilly at Amore Star Events, who took care of everything including the beautiful interior of the marquee. I don’t normally share ‘detail’ shots on my blog (although I do take them!) but I couldn’t resist a couple since this was such a stunning setup.
The speeches were lengthy but in the best possible way, so many laughs, heartfelt moments, and definitely more than a few tears! They rounded off the end of the reception and hearty meal beautifully ahead of Annie and Brian’s awesome first dance. These guys can move!! I left thinking just how lucky I am to be invited not only into couples’ special days, but their homes as well, and be treated as one of the guests yet again. I have such fond memories of this wedding and cannot wait to get designing their wedding album in the next few weeks. If you’re having a marquee garden wedding, please give me a shout! Relaxed and happy, they are where I feel most at home. Thank you Annie and Brian for being two of the loveliest, gentlest people to work with. Here are a few of my favourites from your day! <3 xxx
