Haberdashers’ Company Wedding

There are some weddings which will stick in my mind forever and Sarah and Chris’ is definitely one of them. Since they’re living in the States, I had a lovely call one day from Sarah’s mother, Martha, who essentially said I was so much like Sarah that she had to show her my work. All I can say is when I met the family at the Haberdashers’ Company Hall a few months later I couldn’t have been more flattered, Sarah quite frankly is the most adorable, beautiful, smiley and fun individual, EVER. Not to mention her brilliantly lovely family, her bridesmaids (best bridesmaids ever!?) and of course the wonderful man she chose to marry, Chris. And what a team Chris came with too…there was so much love in this wedding I am not convinced I was entirely ‘together’ for much of it!

Things kicked off at Sarah’s folks’ awesome home nearby, with Percy pigs, Bucks Fizz and happy people getting ready galore. I skipped off to the Hall down the road to meet Chris and his men, all looking dapper in their tuxes, learning how to do button holes (or ‘boutonnieres’ as the groomsmen called them), with great difficulty and giggles! Sarah had the most stunning flower-crown made for her by the clever lady in charge of all the blooms, Kenza from Peppermint Poppy, and I was SO impressed at how well it lasted – apparently long into the night and next morning I heard!

The ceremony was simply beautiful, filled with all of the tears, some lovely smiles and sweet moments in abundance. The weather thankfully held out as the guests enjoyed reception drinks in the courtyard of the very cool and modern Haberdashers’ Hall, whilst Sarah, Chris and I explored the surrounding streets of London for their couples’ session.

Sarah and Chris did a joint speech after an hilarious one by Chris’ best man, and a beautifully emotional one by Tony, Sarah’s father. Out came the desserts and on came the music for the first dance. Witnessing a dance floor go off the way Sarah and Chris’ did, is why I absolutely LOVE shooting the party! SO much passion, laughter and downright dodgy dance-moves; just the way I like it!

I will find it hard not to go on and on and I really struggled to keep this blog post to acceptable viewing levels, I could easily have included 200 images! Instead I chose to pull out my favourite moments, faces and of course Sarah’s beaming and infectious smile. Chris and Sarah, it was SO lovely to get to know you, I found you and your families so unbelievably loving and warm to be around, and I shall miss you loads. Keep in touch, and may you have the best of lives together <3 xxx
