A stunning rustic wedding, near Toulouse, South of France

It’s not everyday you get the opportunity to quote for a wedding near Toulouse in the South of France, and it’s not everyday you do a happy dance having Skyped said wonderful couple living in Qatar after they tell you they’d love for you to shoot their day.

Sarah and Guy. WHAT a couple. What a pair of awesome legends and my gosh what a wedding they delivered. I am very lucky to know some incredibly lovely photographer friends in this industry and it was via one of Sarah’s gorgeous bridesmaids, Kris, that I was chosen as she is also an amazing wedding photographer and put in a good word for me :)

Having mastered the art of driving abroad (yes, this was my first time and no I am not going to lie I was terrified and have no idea how I didn’t manage to drive on the wrong side once), I set off from Toulouse airport to a little village called Miramont-de-Quercy, where I climbed in my trusty Fiat 500 to the very top of the hill to be greeted by Sarah and Guy’s wonderful family and the quaint little house, La Maison Rose. If idyllic wedding venue in France was what you were imagining, you’d be correct. It was just so flipping gorgeous and blew me away a little, wondering how on earth I’d do such a place justice. I was welcomed by everyone involved, their guests were possibly THE nicest and most fun people ever to attend a wedding and their incredible wedding planner, Hannah from Noble Nuptials, worked tirelessly the entire weekend to keep things running smoothly and was an absolute joy to work alongside. I have to admit, we all hoped for sunshine, but instead we were visited by some terrific old thunderstorms! Thankfully most of the rain fell during the meal and we grabbed some beautiful moments in the gardens of the house before everyone headed in for food, food and more food. Let’s not even mention the champagne which over the course of three days, simply never stopped flowing.

The party went long into the night, and I can distinctly recall the sound of one of the ushers doing some ad-hoc rapping at approx. 4am from my bedroom…which was about a stones throw away from the dance-floor :) What embarrassed me the most was my ‘house-mates’, very close friends of Sarah’s parents, came to bed an hour after I did…oh the shame (but I was working so, let me off..no?!)

I could honestly write a book about their day but since I’m a better photographer than I am writer, I shall let the images below give you a taster of what was simply one of the best weekends of my life. Sarah and Guy, I love you both to bits, you absolutely SMASHED your wedding, and I hope you are enjoying your six month anniversary with oodles of cocktails and fun!
