Kersey Mill and Jimmy’s Farm Wedding
Oh em geeee. Sorry that was a rubbish start to a new blog post but sometimes you just have to. I am not sure I can contain all the love I have for this wedding in a few short paragraphs, but I shall try. So, rewind to 2013 and I first meet the beautiful Nicola as bridesmaid and roommate of mine at Becca and Elyes’ rather fabulous Parisian wedding. I was lucky enough to be welcomed into Nicola and cousin Rebecca’s family with open arms and I can safely say I’ve adored them all ever since. To hear of her and Dan’s engagement was absolutely lovely but to be invited to photograph their day truly was the icing on the cake. (Pardon the pun Becca, I couldn’t resist…for those of you who don’t know Becca is responsible for all things cake and made an incredible five tier cheesecake for this wedding, no mean feat!). So the preparations began at the beautiful Salthouse Harbour Hotel, what a stunning little boutique gem! Tears began flowing early doors and I’m fairly certain didn’t stop all day. We then travelled to the beautiful Venue at Kersey Mill for their wedding ceremony. Being late October we had that super special Autumn light along with the best colours of the year in my opinion. Mini cheddars were munched and my first ribbon confetti run went off splendidly; it has to be said the amount of effort Nicola put into the detail of this wedding was mind-blowing, she made all the bouquets and decor and looked simply incredible in her dress, twirling away all day. I also have to mention that all the girls’ hair was done by the talented and lovely Hannah Collins, also a previous bride of mine (how lucky am I to get to see all my old couples again?!)
After some photos we then went onto a venue which will forever be a favourite. It involves animals. So not a great surprise that I loved it…it was the very awesome Jimmy’s Farm in Ipswich. WHAT a place to have a reception! Being October we were losing the light but we dashed round the farm stopping for a few photos with the sheep and just catching that incredible sunset, and a photo of which will be in my portfolio forever. Such a special moment between two incredible and loving people. The speeches were hilarious and heartwarming and to no-one’s surprise the dance-floor went off with a bang! I had SUCH an amazing day, and that wasn’t just down to the fact I was sitting next to gorgeous Joseph, Becca and Elyes’ son and page-boy who is quite frankly the best dinner date ever.
This wedding was so awesome it was also featured by my favourite wedding blog, Whimsical Wonderland Weddings, so do check it out for some more of the details, so much to see! I have kept my favourites in this post to my usual though, the moments and the people. Have a nosey below and if you’re getting married at Jimmy’s Farm please do shout! I would love to be back in Suffolk again! Thank you Nicola and Dan, for being two of the best people I know. <3 xxx
